I love how eBay's management has decided to become historical revisionists. As a buyer I am outraged that they would change my comments. When I leave feedback for someone I say what I mean and I mean what I say. If I leave a neutral feedback that is exactly what I meant for it to be, neutral. How dare they change what I say into a negative. If I wanted it to be a negative I would have given a negative to begin with!

Equally as outrageous is the fact that they use the term "more honest" as a justification for their lies. Since when is calling a neutral a negative "more honest?" It is every bit as dishonest a their stockholder reports. It is just one lie after another after another.

If changing my comments is how eBay plans on "improving the buyer's experience," forget it. There are plenty of places where I can spend my money and not have my comments altered.

Just my opinion, but I feel that if neutral feedback is going to be eliminated, then the previous neutral feedbacks should just be eliminated and not changed to negative feedback.
To me, a neutral feedback meant that a person wasn't totally happy but in the same note, they weren't totally disappointed either.
A negative feedback is read as just that, a bad transaction based either on poor communication, poor delivery time, poor merchandise or the condition of the delivered merchandise, etc.
There are a great deal of Sellers who have a stellar rating now could very well see a major change in their ratings.

The handful of neutrals I've received over the years usually read pretty negatively, so I won't be up in arms over this. In fact, I even agree with them when they say most neutrals identify a transaction where the buyer wasn't really happy--obviously they do (recent ones at least).

If they want to get rid of neutrals going forward, that's fine, it really developed into a meaningless grade anyway, and if you're really feeling that wishy-washy over a transaction you can just ding someone's DSR stars now anyway.

But, the right thing to do would have been to eliminate, or just not count, past neutrals. So while it's not a big deal to me personally, my general opinion is that eBay broke their contract with sellers here, and that does rub me the wrong way.

Wow! That a big surprise to me. I thought they were just going to leave the neutrals as neutrals. This is really going to hurt a lot of people.

gatoroxinc - I really don't think this is something the new CEO started. I really think Meg, former CEO, started all these changes. You know as well as I do these changes don't come over night. They must have been planned way in advance.

Gatoroxinc (Tim),

eBay is a huge behemoth and changes were needed. Some of the changes as implemented and the communication about same, does certainly defy reason.

Concerning feedback - the system was severely broken and out of date.

As you have read here, my opinion is that the entire feedback system is unnecessary and should be scrapped for a more modern user reviews system...

As for what changes are coming around the corner next month or next week... or even in the next hour... Is anyone's guess.

The new CEO's plan must be to completely destroy eBay's business model to date, in order to build it back up from the ashes. There really is no other explanation for the radical behavior they've exhibited over the last few months.

I hate to say this, but it took me at least a minute to figure out what the object is in your photograph. I am guessing that it is a ring, but it didn't look like one to me at first.

I don't think that someone should have to spend more than a second or two in order to recognize the subject of the photograph.

I could NOT make out the back part of the band. The angle that this photo was taken from almost hides the far side of the band.

Taking the photo of the ring from a different angle so that the band is given better visibility would help.

The band is also very dark, especially the far side of the band, so it blends into the background very easily which makes it harder to identify the subject of this photograph.
